(1) Remuneration which a professor or teacher whois a resi-
dent of a Contracting State and who visits the other Con-
tracting State for a period not exceeding two years for the pur-
pose of carrying out advanced study or research or of teaching
at a university, college, school or other educational institution
receives for those activities shall not be taxed in that other
State.
(2) Paragraph 1 of this Article shall apply to income from
research only if such research is undertaken in the public in-
terest and not primarily for the private benefit of a specific per-
son or persons.
(3) Payments which a student or business apprentice who is
or was immediately before visiting a Contracting State a re-
sident of the other Contracting State and who is present in the
first-mentioned State solely for the purpose of his education or
training receives for the purpose of his maintenance, educa-
tion or training shall not be taxed in that State, provided that
such payments arise from sources outside that State.
