(1) Sieht dieses Abkommen für Einkünfte aus Quellen in
einem Vertragsstaat eine Steuerbefreiung oder -ermäßigung in
diesem Staat vor (mit oder ohne andere Bedingungen), und
werden diese Einkünfte nach dem im anderen Vertragsstaat
geltenden Recht unter Zugrundelegung des Betrags besteuert,
der in den anderen Staat überwiesen oder dort bezogen wird,
nicht aber unter Zugrundelegung des Gesamtbetrags der Ein-
künfte, so ist die nach diesem Abkommen im erstgenannten
Staat zu gewährende Steuerbefreiung oder -ermäßigung nur
auf den Teil der Einkünfte anzuwenden, der in den anderen
Staat überwiesen oder dort bezogen wird.
(2) Diese Begrenzung gilt jedoch nicht für Einkünfte, die – auf
Seiten Singapurs – von der Regierung von Singapur, einschließ-
lich ihrer Behörden und Körperschaften des öffentlichen
Rechts, und – auf Seiten der Bundesrepublik Deutschland – von
der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, einem ihrer Länder oder einer
ihrer Gebietskörperschaften bezogen werden. Diese Begren-
zung gilt zudem nicht für Einkünfte einer in einem Vertragsstaat
ansässigen Person, die von der zuständigen Behörde dieses
Staates anerkannt wurde.
