Dieses Abkommen bleibt auf unbestimmte Zeit in
Kraft, jedoch kann jeder der Vertragstaaten bis zum
dreißigsten Juni eines jeden Kalenderjahres nach Ab-
lauf von fiinf Jahren, vom Tage des Inkrafttretens an
gerechnet, das Abkommen gegenüber dem anderen Ver-
tragstaat auf diplomatischem Wege schriftlich kündigen;
in diesem Fall ist das Abkommen nicht mehr anzuwenden:
a) in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland auf die Steuern,
die für den Veranlagungszeitraum, der auf den Ver-
anlagungszeitraum folgt, in dem die Kündigung aus-
gesprochen wird, und für die folgenden Veranlagungs-
zeiträume erhoben werden;
b
in Liberia auf die Steuern, die für das Steuerjahr,
das auf das Steuerjahr folgt, in dem die Kündigung
ausgesprochen wird, und für die folgenden Steuer-
jahre erhoben werden;
c) in beiden Vertragstaaten auf die im Abzugsweg er-
hobenen Steuern von Dividenden, Zinsen und Lizenz-
gebühren, die nach dem 31. Dezember des Kündigungs-
jahres gezahlt werden.
English
This Agreement shall continue in effect ind>finitely,
but either of the Contracting States may, on or before
the Thirtieth day of June in any calendar year beginning
after the expiration of a period of five years from the
date of its entry into force, give to the other Contracting
State, through diplomatic channel, written notice of
termination and, in such event, this Agreement shall cease
.to be effective:
a) in the Federal Republic of Germany in respect of
taxes which are levied for the assessment period next
following that in which the notice of termination is
given and for subsequent assessment periods;
b
in Liberia in respect of taxes which are levied for
the taxable year next following that in which the
notice of termination is given and for subsequent
taxable years;
c) in both Contracting States in respect of taxes with-
held at source on dividends, interest and royalties
paid after 31 December of the year in which the notice
of termination is given.
